COMPETENCY POLICY
“Competency
can be defined as a combination of education, knowledge,
skill and sufficient understanding of the work to enable
effective implementation. OPS Group Ltd is committed to
ensuring that the personnel provided to our clients are
both competent to carry out the work required effectively,
and also meet the requirements of competence to meet current
OHS Legislation”. (Competency Policy – Feb
2009)
Competence Monitoring System
At OPS Group Ltd,
we believe that all of our personnel are competent: our
Competence Monitoring System has been developed to produce
documentation in support of this.
We work in conjunction with a qualified D33 / D34 verifier
to create and maintain a Competence Monitoring System
that is simple for our clients to support and free to
our contractors.
We ask our clients to encourage their own supervisory
personnel to complete our competency forms for OPS contractors.
We then compile a competency record for every contractor
who returns forms. Each contractor receives a Certificate
of Competence when enough evidence has been collected.
